On Thursday Feb 7th, West London residents will be able to try the B-Rex burger a week before it launches nationally, and the first 500 customers will receive a B-Rex burger free! West Londoners will just need to show a piece of ID with their ‘W’ postcode (letter, business card, work pass etc.) to show they live or work in West London.
Five Byron restaurants will be participating, serving up 100 free burgers each: the original Byron restaurant High Street Kensington, nearby Byron King’s Road, Byron Old Brompton Road, Byron Earl’s Court & Byron Gloucester Road.
In addition, there will be an all-day event at the High Street Kensington restaurant (the very first Byron) with a make your own freak shake bar and live music.
First launched five years ago in 2014, the B-Rex was one of the most popular burger specials ever released by Byron. It came off the menu to make way for new additions, but this cult favourite is now back by demand.
Head of Food, Katie Lister described the B-Rex as, “…one of our original Hamburger Specials, known and loved by our loyal customers. We’re so excited to see the B-Rex roam the earth, once again!”
The B-Rex is a classic hamburger patty topped with an onion ring, plus crispy smoked bacon and American cheese. Jalapeños add plenty of kick, while sliced pickles, onion, BBQ sauce and a little mayonnaise make this the ultimate BBQ burger.
The B-Rex will also be joined by the Cluck-osaurus Rex, or C-Rex (a chicken version of the burger) and a new herbivore cousin the Veggie-saurus Rex, or V-Rex (with bean patty, hold the bacon). The whole B-Rex family of burgers (B-Rex, C-Rex, Veggie-Rex) will be included in the West London burger preview day.
In addition, Byron will be launching B-Rex Loaded Onion Rings (their homemade, iconic beer battered onion rings, loaded with Byron cheese, bacon, jalapeños, pickles, onions, spicy BBQ sauce and mayonnaise) and a triple chocolate milk shake, the Choc-osaurus Rex.
For the true dinosaur nerds among you, it turns out that a real Byronosaurus did once stalk the earth, 150 million years ago. No word from the archaeologists as to whether its diet included hamburgers. This beast of a hamburger is 65 million years in the making and it’s got some serious bite!
