Discover Children’s Story Centre is opening up its doors on Saturday 2 March and taking park in the Newham Word Festival by giving families the opportunity to visit for free.
Let your imagination run wild inside Story World and area spread over two floors filled with stories and play.
Help Hootah, the resident space alien on a story collecting mission. On his planet the Squiggly Diggly, everyone has run out of imagination – and that means no stories! And what a sad existence it would be in a world with no stories. Now Hootah is staying here looking for new ones, and little ones can help him create a story to take back to his planet.
On the Ground Floor find your way through giant trees, take a trip on a special steam ship and venture in to Hootah’s Hollow. Meanwhile on the First Floor, children can climb a crow’s nest to the clouds and crew the control panel on Hootah’s Observatron.
In 2016, Discover worked with illustrator Jim Field to redesign the Story World. You can find out more about Jim’s designs and process on his website.
Please note buggies are not allowed in Story World. There is buggy parking available on the Ground Floor. The Centre is open from 10am until 5pm
The first floor Story World is used for School groups and our Mighty Mega Club but is open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays after 12pm, Sundays and during School Holidays.
