This week, theatres all over the globe celebrate World Theatre Day in different ways (many by giving free performances or celebrations) and we thought we would bring you our favourite family friendly theatre shows. So grab your toddlers, your kiddies or teenagers and get some culture this week with the excuse its World Theatre Day.
The Flying Bath at Little Angel Theatre in Islington shows the exciting adventures our bath toys get into when everyone leaves the house each morning. The show is suitable for ages 2-5 and costs £13.50 for adults and £11.50 for children aged 1 to 15. The Polar Bears Go Go Go at Unicorn Theatre is a show where the audience joins two very loveable but slightly hapless Polar Bears on their holiday adventures. Will they ever reach their destination? Ted’s Space Adventure: a special under-7s show at the Peter Harrison Planetarium. Follow the adventures of Ted as he searches the Solar System for the great, big bear in the sky, visiting the Sun, the Moon and the Planets. In collaboration with local schools, music and songs have been developed by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Dates throughout March £8.00 Adult | £5.35 Child | £5.35 Concession
100% Chance of Rain by Chickenshed Theatre combines music, movement and story and is inspired and linked by the issues of mental health. We recently sent a young londoner to review the show. Suitable for ages 12+ with ticket price of £5 for young people, book here.
The Insect Circus at Puppet Theatre Barge in Little Venice features beetles, grasshoppers, wasps and dragonflies demonstrating their dexterity with humour and skill. Presented using marionettes and without words. The show runs from 30 Marchuntil 28 April and is suitable for ages 3+. Ticket price is £13 for adults and £9 for children.
