The Maritime Museum has got a host of fun activities for babies, toddlers, kids and young people to enjoy. The day runs from 11am until 4pm and below are some of the great options for you and your family.
Head to the Great Map to see traditional lion dances by Step Out Arts and song and dance from the Shanghai Theatre Academy to truly celebrate the Year of the Pig.
Character Encounters: James Robson

Explore the Traders gallery in the company of James Robson, a Chinese lascar (sailor) who served on the fastest and greatest of the tea clippers, Cutty Sark. Find out about the struggles of the tea trade between Britain and Chine on your journey.

Dragon Dance Workshop
11am, 12pm, 1pm, 3pm
Come and learn some of the moves of the Dragon Dance, one of the most anticipated events of the Lunar New Year celebrations! Takes place in the Group Space.
Be inspired by the Chinese Junk flags in the Museum. Make your own flag to help decorate the Museum. Takes place in the Propeller Space.
Hongbao are traditionally given to children as part of the New Year celebrations. Come along and decorate your own! Takes place in the Learning Space.
The Great Race and the Story of Nian

Head to Baltic Glass to hear traditional Chinese New Year stories.
Whilst you are in the area you can combine Chinese New Year celebrations with a bite to eat in Greenwich Market or take a Thames Clipper Boat (weather permitting)
