Spend a wild night at ZSL London Zoo this Halloween

ZSL London Zoo’s Lodges have seasonal makeovers for Halloween and Christmas

Have you ever woken up to the roar of a fully-grown lion? For one spooky night, on October 31st, ZSL London Zoo invites only the brave to trick-or-treat themselves to a frightfully fun sleepover.

Guests will be welcomed to nine beautiful cabins in Land of the Lions, right in the heart of the zoo, and all within roaring distance of the Zoo’s pride of Asiatic lions; Bhanu, Heidi, Indi and Rubi, #SquadGhouls. Inspired by the colourful Indian town of Gujurat, the vibrant setting transports lodgers to the Gir forest, the last home for these Critically Endangered felines.

ZSL London Zoo is steeped in 200 years of history and is a prime location for spine-chilling sounds and hair-raising happenings. Guided by expert hosts, guests will take a fa-boo-lous stroll to hear the horrifying ghost stories the site has to offer, whilst using night-vision goggles to spot some of the nocturnal neighbours.

After paying a visit to a cast of the Zoo’s creepy creatures, the lucky lodgers will experience behind-the-scenes exclusive access, and help keepers assemble puzzles for the pair of resident aye-ayes, chilling Madagascan primates believed to bring foreboding mystical omens.

Once the sun has set, guests are treated to a two-course Halloween banquet, before checking in to one of the Zoos’ nine private cosy lodges, each fully equipped with a double or twin beds and en-suite.

The eerie evening undergoes a total transformation just in time for Christmas festivities, as ZSL London Zoo Lodges wrap up warm for the winter months. After checking into their cabin for the evening, sleepover guests are invited to delight in merry after-dark winter strolls of the historic site.

With a complimentary cup of hot cocoa or mulled wine, guests can soak up the twinkling fairy light instalments and Christmas trees as they embark on exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Zoo and lend a hand preparing festive puzzles for animals such as our family of Western lowland gorillas, or male Sumatran tiger.

Guests will get the chance to marvel at unique animal artefacts in ZSL’s hidden collection and be amazed to find out how ZSL is tackling conservation issues, such as the illegal wildlife trade, to help create a world where wildlife thrives, and safeguard animals such as night-time neighbours, ZSL’s Asiatic lions.

As it begins to look a lot like Christmas, the ZSL London Zoo Lodge sleepover is a perfect and unique way to spend a cosy winter night and experience the hidden magic of the Zoo when everyone else has gone home.

As dusk settles, ZSL London Zoo’s pride of Asiatic lions slumber peacefully just a whisker away whilst you enjoy the luxurious warmth of your cosy lodge. There’s snow place like it!
