Due to popular demand, eco-friendly, electric boat company GoBoat is opening a third London location in Canary Wharf. The new opening has been fuelled by increased demand for GoBoat’s two existing sites in Paddington and Kingston, where guests have been taking to the electric picnic boats since 2017 when the company launched. Now London families can pack up the kids and a picnic and take to the open water in the Isle of Dogs.
The new site will be open to the public from August when groups of eight, in line with government guidelines, can charter the electric boats and set sail down around the Docklands, bookings are open via the website here.
Guests can choose between one, two or three hour trips and enjoy a leisurely cruise with the boats travelling at speeds of 4km/hour. The experience is both dog and child friendly with life jackets and buoyancy aids provided and no prior boating knowledge is necessary as staff give a full tutorial before setting sail.
GoBoat is the latest addition to London’s thriving urban hub adding to over 300 shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, one of the capital’s biggest roof gardens and the award-winning, free-to-visit, public art collection.
“When we launched the business, we always wanted to expand across London but never did we think that we’d be opening in Canary Wharf. It’s honestly, one of London’s most picturesque spots and seeing the heart of our capital from the water is truly something special.

“As the weather continues to get warmer, and the government allow us to spread our wings a little more, we’re hoping to see lots of groups out on the water enjoying themselves. We couldn’t be happier to open on the 17th May when groups of eight friends will be able to meet up again and what better way to celebrate than chartering a boat before hitting the amazing restaurants and shops in the Canary Wharf district.”

Wootton continued: “We very recently reopened our other two sites in Paddington and Kingston and it’s been incredible watching everyone come back with a smile on their face. We’re very grateful that we’re in a position to be able to get back to a form of normality. We’re all very excited to see how the new site takes off.”
