Based in Oita, Japan and established in 1993, the group is famous for their one-of-a-kind instrumental performance, with the distinctly Japanese lineup of Wadaiko drum beats masterfully complemented by melodies on Shinobue (flute), Koto (harp), and the Syamisen (guitar).

Millions of YouTube views, a sold-out Off-Broadway run, and sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2004, 2005 and 2009 earned them significant international recognition. Their ability to evolve and innovate while staying true to their cultural roots has made them one of Japan’s most celebrated performing arts groups.
The Dream is the culmination of Drum TAO’s 30 year’s worth of experience and each performance is executed with precision, intensity and passion. The huge taiko drums, some towering over the performers, create thunderous beats that reverberate through the venue, while the ensemble seamlessly incorporates other instruments such as the koto (Japanese harp) and shinobue (bamboo flute). This harmonious blend of sound and movement creates a theatrical spectacle that is visually striking and sonically powerful.
The Dream is performed by Taro Harasaki, Junnosuke Kodani, Haruki Kawazu, Kyota Sonoda, Koki Sato, Haruto Mizuno, Takumi Azami, Ryusei Ishida, Daiki Sakai, Shima Sasaki and Ai Anekawa.
