Magical Merlin: a spell-binding family adventure in London this half term

The West End is about to get a whole lot more enchanting this October half term as the family-favourite musical adventure, Magical Merlin, returns for a limited run. Presented by Perform Productions, this is your chance to catch the dazzling show at the legendary St. Martin’s Theatre from October 27 to November 2, 2025.

Meet the new West End wizards

The full cast has just been revealed, promising a truly talented line-up ready to bring Ancient Britain’s legendary characters to life. Leading the quest is Ben Stock as the wise and witty Merlin, whose magic is the kingdom’s only hope. He is joined by a fantastic ensemble ready for musical mayhem:

With Joy Brenugat and Finan McKinney covering the ensemble and swing roles, and Georgie Macaskill appearing as Ninianne and Mildred, this cast is guaranteed to deliver a performance bursting with energy, stunning vocals, and laugh-out-loud moments.

Whisked away to ancient Britain

Magical Merlin whisks the audience away to an enchanted world of witches, wizards, and legendary peril. The plot heats up when the baby King Arthur is born and his jealous sister, Morgan Le Fay, starts casting mischievous spells—chief among them, turning people into animals! It’s up to Merlin and his brave friends, Sir Lancelot and Princess Guinevere, to embark on an epic quest. They’ll face fire-breathing dragons and navigate the magical waters of The Lady of the Lake, all in a race against time before Morgan can complete her most evil trick: turning the royal baby into a hamster!

More than just magic

Beyond the dragons and spells, Magical Merlin is a beautiful show that celebrates what truly matters: friendship, courage, and believing in yourself. The show is a visual spectacle, bursting with catchy songs by and dazzling choreography brought to you by Perform Productions, the team behind the sold-out success of Jungle Rumble and the 2022 run of Magical Merlin. As founders of Perform, one of the UK’s leading drama schools, they clearly know how to spark creativity and joy in young audiences. In fact, if your child attends one of their classes aimed at 4 to 7 year old children this term, they will be learning with a Magical Merlin theme!

The show runs between 27 October and 2 November at St Martin’s Theatre (the home of The Mousetrap). Running Time: 60 minutes (no interval) with early show times available. Tickets: £17.50-£50 . Age Guidance: 3+
