Pinocchio comes to life at the iconic Globe Theatre

Pinocchio is the new family friendly musical by Charlie Josephine and Jim Fortune making its debut this winter at the Globe Theatre this December.

Gepetto’s hunger for a different life pushes him to carve a small wooden figure, a companion built from hope as much as timber. He names him Pinocchio. What follows is a string of adventures and encounters with oddballs, wanderers and unexpected allies who help them both maker and puppet learn how to love and care for each other and the community around them.

Pinocchio is, in our opinion, the best show this season, a true masterpiece in the art of puppeteering but also an enchanting family musical that brims with sharp wit and heart.

This beautiful story unfolds inside the Globe Theatre’s wooden circular embrace, a space that holds centuries of storytelling in its timber bones. With its open roof and exposure to weather elements (although all seats are under cover), this wooden circle and its classic stories makes for memorable experiences here in London since Shakespeare’s time.

Under Sean Holmes’ direction, the show bursts with playful energy, joyous music, and moments of tender connection between Geppetto and his creation, making it not only a dazzling spectacle but also a heartfelt story of family, curiosity, and belonging. We laughed and gasped and had tears in our eyes as the well known story revealed once again what it means to be human.

Pinocchio’s new musical journey created by Charlie Josephine and Jim Fortune for theatre-goers aged 5+ makes for an unforgettable experience in one of London’s most beautiful locations. So if you plan to take your loved ones to a festive show, we think this should be the one!

The young audience also have the chance to create their very own stories by taking part in one of the Puppetry and Drama workshops. Tickets £12.

Pinocchio plays in the Globe Theatre until 4 January 2026. Standing tickets are priced at £5 and £10, and seated tickets begin at £25. There are captioned, audio described, BSL-interpreted and relaxed performances available during the run.
