Easter Egg Trail at Cutty Sark is a free family event (with paid entry to the ship) on Easter Weekend 3 – 6 April 2026.

Easter egg trail at Fulham Palace is a perfect self-guided activity that helps visitors of all ages explore the historic Palace. From 22 March to 12 April.

Join the Easter Adventure Quest at Eltham Palace and Gardens, as well as Down House, the historic home of Charles Darwin, from 28 March to 19 April. Embark on a thrilling hunt, uncover hidden clues, solve the puzzle, and claim a tasty chocolate treat. Additional charge applies alongside general admission.

Easter egg hunt at Ham House and Garden is a trail inspired by the English Civil Wars. Fun games, including target practice, tug of war and riddles at Ham House and Gardens on Saturday 28 March. £3.50 per child, plus normal National Trust admission/free entry for National Trust members.  

Easter at London Zoo Family fun, egg hunt and the joy of seeing the zoo’s amazing animals this Easter holiday. 28 March – 12 April. Tickets included in Zoo entry.

FREE Easter Egg Hunt at Merchant Square – Join the Marvellous Mouse Twins for a magical Easter adventure with storytelling, dress-up, and a fun-filled egg hunt. 11 April. Free entry, donations welcome.

Easter adventures with Bunny Ranger is at Morden Hall Park 1 – 6 April. Prefect spring day out to enjoy nature and have fun.  £3.50 per child, plus normal National Trust admission/free entry for National Trust members. 

Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt – from 21 March to 12 April at Hampton Court Palace gives visitors the chance to hop through stunning palace gardens to find 10 gold bunny statues! Match historical names to their ribbons to solve the puzzle and win a chocolate treat.

Easter Egg Trail- the Spring Sprites at Chelsea Physic Gardens on 3 & 4 April is a magical trail with small tasks and playfull challenges that lead to the discovery of eggs and invite the garden explorers to discover the magic of Spring in the garden. Suitable for ages 5+. Children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. Book now!

Easter Extravaganza  at Pop Brixton is a free family fun day on 4 April.

Easter Bunny Experience at Mudchute Meet the Easter Bunny and get up close with adorable farm animals, including goats, lambs, and rabbits. Visit the Bunny’s house, collect an Easter egg, and feed the animals! Saturday 4 April. £12 per child. 20-minute group sessions. Max 2 adults per booking.

Easter Egg Trail at Cutty Sark  on 3 to 6 April is the un-filled Easter egg trail for the whole family can enjoy! Follow the trail to spot hidden eggs around the ship. Collect the letters on each egg and unscramble the secret nautical code.

Out and about

With 2.8 hectares of green space per 1000 residents, in London we are just few minutes walk away from an outdoor green space. Whether you are interested in horticulture or just love exploring and learning about nature, there is plenty of things to do. Here is what’s going on this April.

Jurassic Jungle at the Brunswick is a free prehistoric day adventure where kids are invited to meet the T-Rex and say hello to Dino-babies as they take over the centre on 18 April.

Spring into Wild Fangs at Horniman Museum and Gardens offers workshops on the life cycles of various creatures, featuring the Wild Fangs team showcasing animals and their development. Attendees can engage with some animals. Event dates are 31 March, 1 & 2 April, with tickets priced at £9.50.

Nature Roadshows is the ideal opportunity for young nature-lovers and budding evironmentalists to have fun with interactive nature-inspired games in Richmond Park and Bushy Park. These free drop-in activities are perfect for families. Everyone is welcome, so drop in anytime between 11am – 3pm to take part.

Luminarium: Myriad is a spectacular walk-through installation that fills Woolwich Works with light, colour, and calm. With no right route and no rush this is a great space to wander, look, and enjoy the atmosphere. Open 2 -6 April.

Sounds of Blossom celebrates the arrival of spring at Kew Gardens. Splendid blossom and gentle music composed by Royal College of Music students is guaranteed to lift the spirit and help connect us all with nature. Until 6 April. Ticket included with entry to the gardens.

Easter Weekender at Camden Market free family fun on 4 and 5 April has it all. From family rave to interactive performances and aerial acrobatics there is a lot to do. And The Easter Bunny is there to surprise visitors throughout the market.

Octonauts Above & Beyond is the fun – filled event at Kew this Easter holiday running from 28 March to 12 April. Some honeybees have lost their home, and the Octonauts, along with young Kew visitors, must help by finding the bees, building a new hive, and have fun in this beautiful landscape. Perfect for children aged 3–6 and their families. Ticket is included with entry to the gardens.

The Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace is a brilliant children’s playground that provides a unique way for the family to explore the history of the Palace. Access to the new garden is included in Palace admission.

Gozzle’s wetland adventure at the London Wetland Centre is a fun nature trail that follows a little goose. Nature explorers can see their little friend growing up, from her first nibble to her first migration, while striking funny poses, balancing on stepping stones, foraging for food, and spotting 15 hidden mini Gozzles along the way. Come to explore this adventure until 31 May. Tickets from 10.58

Arts, crafts, song and dance

Spring Family Fun at Southbank Centre runs from 1 April until 31 May and is packed with super shows, musical adventures, amazing puppetry and lots of free fun during the Easter break and May half-term.

Folk for Kids at Royal Albert Hall is presented by Elye Cuthbertson and leading folk musicians from around the country introducing the young ones and their families to instruments you might never have seen before. Tuesday 7 April.

REPLAY: A Limitless Recycled Playground at Royal Festival Hall is a space built entirely out of waste materials repurposed for fun by The Herd Theatre. It features a design to ignite imaginations, a score composed from recycled sounds and a crowd-sourced play generator. Until 12 April.

Pay what you can family workshops at Two Temple Place encourages messy creativity through painting, printing, using cardboard boxes to create miniature furniture or have fun with paper sculpture and paper weaving. Sense of the sea is on 1 April and Figurines of feelings is on 2 April

My First Ballet: Cinderella at Saddlers Wells is a specially adapted version for children and performed by students of English National Ballet School. 16 – 27 April. Tickets from £12.

Imaginative play at the ArtPlay Pavilion at Dulwich Picture Gallery is an immersive play space that invites little ones to explore sunlight, water, wind and earth through engaging sensory activities.

Amongst the Trees and Terraces: Donald Towner (1903–1985) is free to visit and is hosted at Burgh House (New End Square, Hampstead, NW3 1LT). This beautiful display documents the leafy streets of Hampstead Village.

Thunderbirds and Space: 1999 at the Museum of Brands is a celebration of sci-fi toys and collectables. The exhibition attracts sci-fi enthusiasts, pop culture fans, and design lovers by showcasing mid-century aesthetics and innovative model-making, offering engaging displays and an educational experience for all ages.

At the museums

Dino Disco on the 4 April is your opportunity to dance under the Natural History museum giant whale at this cool family silent disco! With three DJs and tunes for all ages, it’s a prehistoric party you won’t want to miss. From £18 per person.

Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition 2026 is at Somerset House on 17 Apr–4 May. This world-class photography exhibition showcases a display of over 300 pictures offering an insight into the artists working in the medium today. Tickets £18.

Welcome space weekends and holidays is a great space for families keen to explore creativity at the National Gallery. Free entry.

The Young V&A museum celebrates the creativity of Aardman with a major event: Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends. This major event is one of the many celebrations of Aardman’s 50th anniversary this year, proving that even after five decades, the studio hasn’t lost its tactile, homemade soul. An £11 ticket allows multiple entries to this exhibition until Autumn.

Wonderlab at the Science Museum is the unmissable interactive gallery, perfect for curious minds aged 7-14 to experiment and play. Tickets £17.

Moco Museum: Perfect destination for contemporary art. From Yayoi Kusama and Andy Warhol to Banksy, this friendly museum is the perfect place to explore art and creativity. From 24 April, Robbie Williams: Radical honesty presents never-before seen art work and sculptures that explores with honesty and playful humour the real person behind the social media filters. Easter holidays: future London at Transport museum invites young visitors to imagine how we might travel a hundred years in the future. Take part in fun family activities, creating your own visions of London in 2126. Free with museum admission.

Tots at the Docks. Free monthly play sessions inspired by the history of London’s Docklands. Wed 25 March and 29 April.

Sorted! The Postal Play Space indoor play area at the Postal Museum. Hands on 45min play sessions for under 8 year olds. Tickets £4.50

Easter holidays at Cutty Sark. Set sail to Greenwich this Easter and enjoy some fantastic family activities on board the historic tea clipper.

At London Galleries

Chiharu Shiota: Threads of Life at Hayward Gallery features immersive and emotive works that address universal themes like life, death, and relationships, utilizing Shiota’s personal experiences. The exhibition includes large-scale sculptures, drawings, performance videos, and photographs, all of which are intricately woven throughout the gallery’s top floor, harmonizing with its brutalist architecture. Ends on 3 May.

Premiums is an exhibition showcasing new work by second-year students at the Royal Academy Schools, highlighting their art for the first time as part of their three-year postgraduate programme. The exhibition has a historical significance, being a continuation of the tradition established since the Royal Academy of Arts was founded in 1768. Ends 22 April.

The Everywhere Bear – A captivating and beautiful story from best-selling author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Rebecca Cobb springs to life with rhyme, original music and delightfully expressive puppets in this fun and exciting stage adaption. From £13.50

The Koala who could at Southbank Centre is combining puppetry and songs to deliver an empowering, chuckle-out-loud story about embracing change, whether we like it or not. Tickets from 16.

A Midsummer’s Night Dream at Unicorn Theatre is their first co-production with the Royal Shakespeare Company that aims to deliver a fresh retelling of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, exploring unrequited love, self-discovery and seeing the world anew. Until 10 May. Tickets from £14.50

Back to the Future: The Musical. Adapted from the much loved blockbuster film this musical is one of the best on London’s West End. This show will end it’s residence at the Adelphi Theatre on 12 April!
