There’s a monster in your show is at London Arts Depot for few days only

Tom Fletcher’s favourite little troublemaker is heading back to the stage, and London families should prepare for 50 minutes of joyful chaos, glittering puppets and very loud giggles.

After charming more than 100,000 children and parents across the UK, There’s A Monster In Your Show has been touring the UK since 31 March bringing its colourful whirlwind of songs, storytelling and interactive fun to venues around the country.

Based on Tom Fletcher’s wildly popular’ Who’s In Your Book?’ picture book series, the stage adaptation has quietly become one of the UK’s most loved introductions to live theatre for younger audiences. Think less sit quietly in your seat and more dance in the aisle while shouting at a dragon vibe. During the show, tiny theatre-goers are actively encouraged to clap, sing, stomp and fully participate in the action. Honestly, the monsters would probably be offended if they didn’t.

A family theatre show designed for first-time audience

Parents navigating the slightly terrifying idea of taking toddlers to the theatre for the first time may find this production refreshingly pressure-free. The show was created specifically with young families in mind, blending puppetry, music and interactive storytelling into a high-energy 50-minute experience that keeps little attention spans sparkling rather than drifting into biscuit-related negotiations.

Tom Fletcher described the production as “the perfect first theatre experience for little ones”, explaining that children are encouraged to “shout, sing, clap and dance their hearts out.”

The story follows a group of performers attempting to begin their show before discovering an unexpected guest on stage: Little Monster. Naturally, one monster is never enough. Soon Dragon, Alien and Unicorn crash the party too, creating a whirlwind of comedy, friendship and imaginative mayhem. Somewhere between the dancing and delightful disorder, the production also sneaks in a gentle love letter to books and storytelling.

The creative team behind the musical chaos

The production comes from Millennium Entertainment International and the team behind beloved family adaptations including Twirlywoos Live, Sarah & Duck and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.

The stage adaptation is written by Zoe Bourn, with direction by Miranda Larson, who previously adapted The Christmasaurus for theatre. Puppet direction comes from Roman Stefanski, while the puppet creations themselves are designed by Keith Frederick, giving the production its wonderfully tactile, storybook-to-stage aesthetic.

And because this is a Tom Fletcher production, there’s music too. Original songs written by Fletcher and Barrie Bignold thread through the show like a confetti cannon powered by nursery-rhyme energy.

London audiences will be able to catch the production at Arts Depot in North Finchley from 27 to 30 May 2026. Tickets from £15.
