Giant puppets are taking over South Kensington this June

Looking for a free family day out in London this June? Giant handcrafted puppets, live drumming and colourful performances are set to take over Exhibition Road as part of Giants on the Move — a large-scale street parade celebrating South Asian arts and culture.

Taking place on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June, the free outdoor event will transform South Kensington with towering puppets inspired by India’s folk puppetry traditions, alongside live percussion, moving sculpture and performers filling the streets with music and energy.

Directed by acclaimed Indian puppeteer Dadi Pudumjee and presented by Serendipity Arts as part of the Great Exhibition Road Festival, the parade is designed to bring art into public spaces and create a family-friendly experience for all ages.

With performances at 12.45pm and 3.15pm each day, it’s an easy one to combine with a museum visit or day out in South Kensington.
